In Loving Memory of Syed Mohammad Minhaj Hossain — A Guiding Force in Education and Leadership

Premier University Mourns the Passing of Syed Mohammad Minhaj Hossain, Chairman of the Department of CSE

It is with deep sorrow and profound grief that Premier University announces the passing of Syed Mohammad Minhaj Hossain, esteemed Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).(Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un).

Mr. Hossain passed away peacefully at **9:15 a.m. on Sunday, 19 October 2025, at Chattogram Medical College Hospital. He was approximately 40 years old at the time of his death. His untimely demise has left a deep void within the university community and among all who had the privilege to know him.

The **Honorable Vice Chancellor of Premier University, Professor S. M. Nasrul Quadir, expressed his heartfelt condolences and profound sadness over the sudden loss. In his message, Professor Quadir stated that *“Syed Mohammad Minhaj Hossain was not only a dedicated academic and visionary leader but also a mentor and inspiration to students and colleagues alike. His commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and mentorship has left a lasting mark on the Department of CSE and on Premier University as a whole.”*

The Vice Chancellor also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his deepest sympathy to the bereaved family.

Alongside the Vice Chancellor, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Dr. Mohit Ul Alam Adjunct Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Md. Morshed Mahmud Khan Associate Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, Professor M. Moinul Haque Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Dr. Shaheed Md. Asif Iqbal Registrar and Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Science, Mr. Mohammad Iftekhar Monir Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Law, Ms. Tanzina Alam Chowdhury Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Ms. Farzana Yasmin Chowdhury along with Chairmen, Coordinators, faculty members, officials, and staff of the university have all expressed their deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the family of the late Mr. Hossain.

They collectively acknowledged his invaluable contributions to the university’s academic growth, particularly in advancing the Department of Computer Science and Engineering through his dedication, leadership, and forward-thinking vision.

Premier University remembers Syed Mohammad Minhaj Hossain as a respected educator, a compassionate colleague, and a true academic leader whose legacy will continue to inspire future generations of students and faculty members.

May Almighty Allah grant his soul eternal peace and give strength to his family, colleagues, and loved ones to bear this profound loss.
