It’s with profound sadness that Brownwood ISD shares the news of the passing of Autumn Ales, a beloved second-grade student at Coggin Elementary School, who tragically lost her life in a car accident.

The district expressed heartbreak over the loss, stating, “We are deeply heartbroken by this tragedy and extend our sincerest condolences to Autumn’s parents, family, and friends.” Autumn was known for her bright smile, kind spirit, and the joy she brought to everyone around her. Her absence will be deeply felt by her classmates, teachers, and the entire Brownwood community.
In response to this devastating loss, school counselors and support staff have reached out to the parents of all second-grade students to offer emotional care and guidance. The district encourages parents and guardians to have open, age-appropriate conversations with their children as they process this difficult time.
“Brownwood ISD remains committed to supporting our students, families, and staff as we navigate this loss together,” the statement continued.
Autumn Ales will be lovingly remembered for her warmth, laughter, and the light she brought into every classroom she entered. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
