It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tiana Mangakahia, who left this world on September 11, 2025, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born in Australia, Tiana’s journey was one of resilience, inspiration, and achievement. She first made her mark in basketball as a young athlete whose skill and determination quickly set her apart.

Her talent carried her across the world to the United States, where she became a standout player for Syracuse University. From 2017 to 2021, Tiana proudly wore the Orange jersey, dazzling fans and opponents alike with her vision on the court, her leadership as a point guard, and her fearless drive to compete at the highest level.

At Syracuse, Tiana etched her name into the program’s history books. She recorded multiple double-doubles, led the nation in assists during her sophomore season, and was a two-time All-ACC selection.
