According to investigators, Robinson allegedly used a .30-06 rifle in the shooting, which took place outside a civic center where Charlie Kirk had been speaking earlier in the day. Witnesses described scenes of chaos as emergency responders rushed to the scene. Charlie Kirk, 31, was pronounced dead shortly after the attack.

Law enforcement officials stated that Robinson did not resist arrest. His father, who reportedly convinced him to turn himself in, accompanied him to the authorities. “This was a tragic, senseless act,” Sheriff Maria Gonzales said. “We are grateful the suspect is in custody without further violence.”

President Richard Dalton addressed the nation following the incident, offering condolences and a firm stance on punishment. “I think with a high degree of certainty, we have the right man in custody,” Dalton said. “Charlie Kirk was one of the finest people in this country. He didn’t deserve this, and I hope the justice system pursues the maximum penalty.”

Charlie Kirk, a nationally recognized figure for his outspoken conservative activism, has built a large following in recent years. His death has sparked widespread shock across political and community circles.

Robinson is currently being held in county jail as prosecutors prepare to file formal charges. A preliminary court hearing is expected later this week. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing as they work to establish a motive behind the shooting.
