Victim Identified in Montgomery County Shooting: Teen Killed, 21-Year-Old Critical; Two Arrested

Charly Blayner Vail Lucas,Jaril Verde Murillo Obituary, Death; – Two individuals are in custody following a fatal shooting that occurred on Friday night at a park in Silver Spring, Maryland.

As reported by the Montgomery County Police, the incident took place at Long Branch Local Park located on Langley Drive, where officers discovered two individuals with gunshot injuries.

One victim, who succumbed to his injuries at the scene, has been identified as 17-year-old Charly Blayner Vail Lucas from Silver Spring. The other victim, a 21-year-old male, was taken to a nearby hospital and is currently in critical condition.

Investigators indicated that the shooting may be linked to a homicide that took place on August 18, which resulted in the death of 17-year-old Jaril Verde Murillo on University Boulevard East. Authorities established this connection after discovering firearms and other evidence during a SWAT-assisted search of the residence of 20-year-old Jhony Steve Rosales Castillo in Silver Spring on Saturday.

Both Rosales Castillo and 18-year-old Juan Carlos Gutierrez-Hernandez were apprehended in relation to this case following the search. They are facing several charges, including two counts of first-degree murder of a minor and one count of attempted first-degree murder.

A bond hearing is set to take place on Monday.
