Authorities are investigating a deadly crash that occurred Saturday, August 23, 2025, at approximately 10:25 p.m. at the intersection of Dixie and Pool Road.
According to the Odessa Police Department (OPD) and Odessa Fire Rescue (OFR), a red Dodge 3500, operated by 44-year-old Marcus Gentry of Stephenville, was traveling westbound on Pool Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign. A gray Jeep, traveling northbound on Dixie, struck the Dodge, causing it to leave the roadway and roll over.
Gentry was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been notified.
The passenger in the Dodge sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported.
The crash remains under investigation by OPD and OFR. Authorities urge anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
