A tragic multi-agency investigation has led to the arrest of four individuals in connection with the death of 18-year-old Antwon Carmichael, an Orangeburg County teen whose body was discovered abandoned along a roadside in South Carolina.
According to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, Carmichael’s body was found on August 3, wrapped in white bedding along White House Pond Road in the Rosinville area. Deputies were initially alerted to what was described as a “suspicious package resembling a body.” Upon arrival, authorities confirmed the grim discovery, though Carmichael’s identity was not immediately known.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) joined the investigation and released a forensic sketch on August 7 to assist with identification. Six days later, investigators confirmed the victim was Carmichael. Further inquiries revealed that he had died at a residence on 36 Peppertree Lane on or about August 2.
On Thursday, authorities arrested four suspects:
