Tatayana Penister & Demetrius Feemster Obituary, Death: Fourth Suspect Arrested in Deadly Conway Park Shooting
Arkansas State Police, alongside U.S. Marshals, have announced the arrest of the fourth and final suspect linked to the April 13 shooting at Fifth Avenue Park in Conway that claimed the lives of **Tatayana Penister, 24, of England**, and **Demetrius Feemster, 23, of Little Rock**, while leaving nine others wounded.
According to a news release from Conway police, **Kemarie Johnson, 19, of Conway**, was arrested Thursday evening in Pine Bluff by state police SWAT officers and U.S. Marshals. Johnson now faces **two counts of capital murder, nine counts of attempted murder, and one count of terrorism**.
Johnson was one of four suspects identified by Conway police in a late-April press conference regarding the park shooting and a separate incident at the University of Central Arkansas. At the time of the deadly shooting, Johnson was just 18 years old.
Authorities previously arrested **Ryan Goins, 20, of Pine Bluff**, and **Tyler Farris, 19, of Conway**, while Johnson’s brother, **Keydrick Johnson, 21**, was later taken into custody in June.
Officials stated that the April 13 incident escalated rapidly, with investigators determining that **approximately 73 shots were fired from seven different weapons** during the chaotic attack. The shooting occurred around 6:43 p.m. during a large gathering at the park. Conway police Lt. Tom Kennedy noted that the party should likely have been shut down earlier to prevent such violence.
“This arrest reflects the relentless work and coordination of local, state, and federal partners,” the police statement read. “Our detectives have remained focused on justice for the victims and families affected by this tragic act of violence.”
The loss of Tatayana Penister and Demetrius Feemster has left their families and communities heartbroken, and authorities emphasize their ongoing commitment to ensuring accountability for all involved in this senseless tragedy.
