It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Devin Dayton, a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend whose life was filled with love, laughter, and unwavering strength. Devin courageously fought against an aggressive medical condition but was called home far too soon, leaving behind a legacy of devotion and kindness.
A former student of Gallup Catholic High School and Miyamura High School, Devin built a life rich in both family and community. Though his journey took him from his hometown of Decorah, Iowa to Gallup, New Mexico, his roots and values remained constant—grounded in family, faith, and the joy of living fully.
Devin was known for his deep passions. He was a proud fan of the St. Louis Blues, Cardinals baseball, and the legendary sounds of AC/DC. He could talk endlessly about his favorite teams and bands, often managing to secure tickets to games and concerts—something friends joked he achieved with his exceptional math skills and determination.
Above all, Devin’s greatest joy was his family. His love as a husband and father was the cornerstone of his life, and his presence brought warmth and strength to every gathering. To his siblings, nieces, nephews, and countless friends, Devin was a source of wisdom, humor, and unwavering support.
Devin’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His life, though cut short, will be remembered as one of passion, loyalty, and love. Funeral arrangements will be announced in the coming days.
