A 27-year-old man has died following a violent single-vehicle crash on Marshall Mill Road Saturday evening, according to the Franklin Township Police Department.
On August 16, 2025, at approximately 7:49 p.m., officers responded to reports of an overturned vehicle in a farm field along the 800 block of Marshall Mill Road. Upon arrival, police located the driver 27, suffering from life-threatening injuries. Emergency medical services were immediately rendered, and Smith was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital by medical helicopter. Despite life-saving efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Smith had been traveling eastbound on Marshall Mill Road when he attempted to negotiate a bend in the roadway. Police say the vehicle lost control, veered off to the right, and entered a farm field. The soft soil caused the vehicle to overturn multiple times before coming to rest approximately 326 feet from the road.
Investigators confirmed that Smith was ejected from the vehicle through the sunroof during the crash. No other occupants were inside the vehicle at the time.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
