Police have launched a murder investigation after a young woman in her twenties was found dead outside a care home in east London early Friday morning.
Officers were called to reports of an assault in Chadwell Heath around 5:30 a.m. Paramedics arrived and attempted to save the woman outside the entrance to the Sanctuary Care Centre, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Although her identity has not yet been formally released, police confirmed that her family has been informed and are receiving support from family liaison officers. A post-mortem examination is planned to determine the exact nature of her injuries.
Forensic teams collected evidence from the scene, including a colourful handbag containing a phone charger, clothing, and toothpaste. The murder occurred near a village green that is popular with local dog walkers.
No arrests have been made at this stage, and police are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has knowledge that could aid the investigation.
Detectives are treating the death as a serious murder investigation and are urging anyone with details to contact them immediately.
Authorities continue to work to piece together the events that led to this tragic killing, as the local community grapples with the shock of violence occurring in a typically quiet residential area.
