It’s with profound sadness that the Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District shares the heartbreaking news of the passing of Firefighter EMT Glenn Collins, who tragically lost his life in a head-on collision early Friday morning on Lone Pine Dam Road. District officials have confirmed that his passing is being recognized as a Line of Duty Death (LODD) in honor of his service and dedication to the community.

According to the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 6:44 a.m. near milepost 7.5, just outside of Show Low. Investigators determined that Collins, 46, was riding his motorcycle when he was struck in a head-on collision with a truck driven by a 21-year-old woman from Show Low. Collins sustained fatal injuries at the scene.
Timber Mesa officials publicly identified Collins Friday afternoon, paying tribute to his seven years of service with the department. “Firefighter EMT Glenn Collins has proudly served with Timber Mesa for the past seven years. He was respected by his peers for his dedication to the fire service, his professionalism, and his commitment to helping others. His absence will be deeply felt,” said Public Information Officer Trinity Savage.
Although Collins was commuting to work at the time, Timber Mesa has classified his death as a Line of Duty Death, ensuring his dedication and sacrifice are formally honored.
This devastating loss comes as the department continues to grieve the recent deaths of two other firefighters, making Glenn Collins the third member of Timber Mesa lost in recent weeks. Officials described this as an “unimaginable tragedy” for both the fire service and the Show Low community and expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of love and support.
Funeral and memorial details for Firefighter EMT Glenn Collins will be announced soon.
Glenn will be remembered for his unwavering bravery, compassion, and lifelong commitment to helping others. His legacy of service and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and fellow firefighters.
