A tragic two-vehicle crash in Duanesburg has claimed the life of 63-year-old Barbara Bryant, of Schenevus, and left several others hospitalized, including two teenagers.

According to New York State Police, the collision occurred around 11:40 a.m. Thursday, October 2, on Route 20 near McGuire School Road. Investigators determined that a 17-year-old driving a 2007 BMW sedan failed to stop at a stop sign while turning left onto Route 20 from McGuire School Road. The BMW collided with a westbound 2014 Dodge Caravan driven by Bryant.
Barbara Bryant was transported to Ellis Hospital, where she sadly succumbed to her injuries. Her passenger, a 36-year-old man from Burlington Flats, was taken to Albany Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.
The 17-year-old BMW driver and his 16-year-old passenger were also transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment. Both remain in stable condition, though officials said the 16-year-old suffered a severe eye injury that is expected to result in permanent vision loss.
State Police cited the teen driver for failing to stop at a stop sign as the investigation continues.
Barbara Bryant will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her passing leaves a deep void in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
