It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Linda Bosco Fioretti, a cherished member of the San Francisco community and beloved co-owner of Lucca Deli on Chestnut Street. Linda passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, tradition, and deep connection to the city she loved.
A proud third-generation steward of Lucca Deli, Linda joined the family business in her twenties, continuing the work begun by her grandfather and carried on by her father. With tireless dedication and a radiant smile, she upheld the same values of quality, hospitality, and love that made Lucca a neighborhood institution. For decades, Linda was more than just a business owner — she was the welcoming heart behind the counter, the familiar voice on the phone, and the friendly face who remembered your name, your order, and often, your story.
Linda adored her Marina neighborhood and took immense pride in being part of its vibrant, ever-evolving community. She loved reading, cooking, and cheering on her beloved San Francisco Giants. But above all, she cherished the relationships she built with her customers — many of whom became lifelong friends. To walk into Lucca was to feel at home, and that feeling was a reflection of Linda’s generous, caring spirit.
Those who knew Linda will remember her for her unwavering kindness, her gentle humor, and her fierce loyalty to the traditions and people she held dear. She made everyone feel like family, whether you were a regular picking up lunch or a first-time visitor discovering the deli’s magic. Her legacy is woven into every ravioli, every sandwich, and every warm interaction shared within those walls.
To her family, friends, colleagues, and devoted customers — we extend our deepest condolences. The loss of Linda is felt far beyond the storefront; it is felt in hearts across the Marina, throughout San Francisco, and among all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Lucca Deli will continue to serve the community in her honor — with the same care, flavor, and love she poured into every day.
Rest in peace, Linda. You will be forever missed and never forgotten.
