A man was shot and killed Saturday evening at a Grand Rapids park following a fight, according to police.
The shooting happened around 7 p.m. at Mackay-Jaycees Park on Kalamazoo Avenue near 28th Street, the Grand Rapids Police Department confirmed.
Officers said a fight broke out before the gunfire. Emergency crews attempted life-saving measures on the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not released the man’s identity but confirmed he had been in and out of jail over the years for a history of crimes.
As of Saturday night, no suspect has been located. The investigation remains ongoing, and GRPD is asking anyone with information to come forward.
