Fatal Accident at Eagle Mountain Lake: Search and Rescue Responds

A day of fun on the water ended in heartbreak for a North Texas family after a beloved father tragically drowned in Eagle Mountain Lake.

On Saturday evening, boaters heard two children crying out for help. They were safely rescued — but their father, 50-year-old Jim “Jimmy Ninja” Chaikong, never resurfaced.

Rescue crews searched through the night, and by Sunday afternoon, authorities confirmed that a body was recovered near Crest Point, the same area where Chaikong disappeared.

Family and friends have since identified him as Jimmy Ninja — a talented musician, songwriter, MMA fighter, and mentor. But above all, he was a devoted father known for his big heart and ability to make his children laugh. “Those are babies and there’s nothing they could have done… their dad was their hero,” said close friend Uncle Ryano.

Chaikong’s impact stretched beyond the stage and the cage. He championed independent artists across Texas, inspiring many to chase their dreams. While friends vow to continue his legacy, their immediate focus is standing by his children during this devastating loss.

Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones. Jimmy Ninja will be remembered not only for his talent and strength but for the love he poured into his children and community.
