A man is in custody following a stabbing Tuesday afternoon at the University of Arizona Main Library, according to campus police.
The incident occurred around 2:10 p.m. at the library, located at 1510 East University Boulevard. A UAlert was sent out by the University of Arizona Police Department (UAPD) shortly after, advising the campus community of the situation.
A spokesperson for the Tucson Fire Department confirmed that one person was transported from the scene to a hospital. No details about the victim’s condition have been released.
Authorities said the suspect was taken into custody soon after the stabbing. While the immediate threat has passed, officials urged people to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
