A tragic crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway has left one dead and two injured, police said. Authorities reported that 27-year-old Daja Williams was driving under the influence when her vehicle rolled over Saturday on the I-94 northbound exit ramp to 130th Street.
Williams and her two passengers sustained injuries in the single-car rollover. One passenger, 26-year-old DeAir Williams of Chicago, later died from his injuries.
On Monday, Daja Williams was arrested and faces felony charges, including aggravated driving under the influence causing death and reckless homicide. She is currently being held in custody pending her first court appearance.
Investigators continue to examine the circumstances of the crash as the community mourns the loss of DeAir Williams.
