Jaden was fatally injured when the Ford F-250 he was operating collided with the Freightliner. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials noted that he had not been wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, 24-year-old Carroll Grant Hughes of Dothan, sustained injuries in the accident and was transported to Dale Medical Center in Ozark for treatment. His condition has not yet been released. Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
