Crystal Palace Bowl Tragedy: Stampede at The Originals Festival in Bromley Injures Seven

A stampede broke out at The Originals Festival at Crystal Palace Bowl on Sunday, 17th August 2025, leaving at least seven people injured and forcing organizers to shut down the event.

According to police, the incident occurred in the early evening when multiple attendees reportedly attempted to bypass the entry queue. The surge triggered pushing and falling among festivalgoers, resulting in a chaotic stampede at the gates.

Emergency services responded quickly, and several individuals were treated at the scene for injuries ranging from minor cuts and bruises to suspected fractures. At least three victims were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

Law enforcement confirmed that no fatalities have been reported.

“Our officers were called to the venue following reports of disorder at the gates,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said. “We can confirm that at least seven people sustained injuries during what appears to have been a crowd surge caused by attempts to jump the queue.”

Festival organizers made the decision to close The Originals Festival for the remainder of the day following the incident, citing safety concerns. Thousands of attendees were asked to leave Crystal Palace Bowl as security teams worked to disperse the crowd.

Video footage shared on social media appeared to show people rushing towards the entrance while others screamed for help as security attempted to regain control.

The Metropolitan Police said they are investigating the incident and working with festival organizers to review security measures.

As of late Sunday night, no arrests had been announced.

This remains a developing story.
