A man has died following a stabbing incident in Aberfan on Saturday, August 16.
The area of Aberfan Road between the Aberfan Hotel and the bottom of Station Hill has been temporarily closed as police conduct investigations. The road remains cordoned off while forensic officers carry out their work at the scene.
South Wales Police confirmed that the incident is being treated as a crime scene and that the closure is necessary to allow the forensic team to gather evidence.
A spokesperson for the force said they are working to conclude investigations as quickly as possible so the road can be reopened to the public.
Residents have been urged to avoid the area while inquiries continue.
