Schaumburg Fatal Shooting: Active shooter, Shelter-in-Place Issued Due to Armed Person on Kristin Drive

Residents near the 20 block of Kristin Drive were urged to shelter in place Wednesday morning as police responded to a report of an armed individual.

According to authorities, the incident began shortly after 10:30 a.m., when officers were called to 21 Kristin Drive to conduct a well-being check on a person believed to be armed. In a social media alert issued at 10:31 a.m., police warned of a large police presence and instructed the public to avoid the area.

At 10:55 a.m., officials updated the situation, formally advising residents in the immediate vicinity to shelter in place. Police stressed that the area should remain clear to ensure public safety while the situation unfolded.

By 11:34 a.m., authorities announced road closures in the area. Southbound Roselle Road at Hillcrest Boulevard and northbound Roselle Road at State Parkway were shut down due to the heavy police activity. Drivers are being advised to seek alternate routes.

The shelter-in-place order remains in effect as officers continue to address the incident. No further details have been released about the individual involved, and police say updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
