Authorities in Tyler, Texas, are investigating a heartbreaking incident in which an 8-week-old baby girl was left alone in a hot vehicle for over an hour on Wednesday, August 6. The child’s mother, 22-year-old Adasia Henderson, reportedly left the infant inside the car while attending an eye appointment at 10:30 a.m., unaware the baby was still in the vehicle.

At the time, outside temperatures reached approximately 90 degrees, meaning the interior of the vehicle likely soared to 130 degrees or higher in direct sunlight. When Henderson returned to the car and discovered the child unresponsive, emergency responders were immediately called to the scene.

The infant was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Her current condition has not been publicly released.

According to initial statements, Henderson told investigators she had forgotten her daughter was in the car during her appointment. The case remains under investigation by local law enforcement and child welfare authorities.

This incident serves as a tragic reminder of the dangers of leaving children in vehicles, even for short periods. In hot weather, car interiors can become deadly in just minutes. Officials urge all caregivers to double-check their back seats and use reminders to prevent similar tragedies.
